Did the disciples just hallucinate the risen Jesus?

Hallucinations are real, but they don't fit the evidence. By their nature they are private, individual experiences - like dreams, two people can't share the same one. Yet Jesus was reportedly seen by individuals and by groups, indoors and outdoors, on multiple occasions, even by sceptics and enemies like Paul.

Hallucinations also wouldn't produce an empty tomb; the body would still be there for anyone to produce. And they don't explain the conversion of hostile witnesses who had no expectation or desire to see Jesus alive. The appearances behave like encounters with something real and external, not like wishful projections of grief.
