1. Introduction

Apologia Daily ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using Apologia Daily, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and optionally your name.
  • Usage data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including features accessed, content viewed, and time spent.
  • Progress data: We store your learning progress, streak data, study plan progress, and quiz results.
  • Conversation journal entries: If you use the Conversation Journal feature, the content you enter is stored to provide the AI coaching feature.
  • Payment information: If you subscribe to Pro, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
  • Device and browser information: We may collect information about your device, browser type, IP address, and referring URLs for security and analytics purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process your subscription payments
  • Send you service-related communications such as account confirmations and subscription receipts
  • Track your learning progress and personalise your experience
  • Power AI features including Asked & Answered, the Debate Arena, and the AI Tutor
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Send you occasional product updates and apologetics resources (you may opt out at any time)

4. AI Features and Data Processing

Several features of Apologia Daily are powered by the Anthropic Claude AI. When you use Asked & Answered, the Debate Arena, or the AI Tutor, your questions and conversation content are sent to Anthropic's API for processing.

We do not store your AI conversation history beyond what is necessary to provide the Service within your current session. Questions submitted to Asked & Answered and Debate Arena are not retained after the session ends.

Conversation Journal entries are stored in your account so you can review them later. You may delete your journal entries at any time from your account settings.

Anthropic's privacy practices govern how they handle data sent to their API. We encourage you to review Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider with enterprise-grade security. Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Progress data such as streak counts, quiz scores, and study plan progress is stored locally in your browser's localStorage in addition to your account. This means it is also accessible on the device you used to complete the activity.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide the Service:

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to store your learning progress, streak data, and usage limits. This data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you are logged in.

We may use cookies for authentication purposes (to keep you logged in) and for basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

You can clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this will reset your locally stored progress data.
